A new patch has been released: This file fixes the motorbike´s speedometer. Simply unpack it in your DNF 2013 folder and enjoy, while we work on the big ass update that is gonna move Earth from its axis.
This update has been done a few years ago but I forgot to add it. It removes those stray needles at the right side and replace them with a proper speedometer needle.
Credits to Deeperthought. Install instructions: Unpack the content of the rar file inside the same folder where your DNF 2013 is installed. You will be asked to replace an older file, which you have to accept. Good lord how the hell did I miss this coming out!
Got to be honest the first map simply blew me away. Fantastic gameplay and detail, just a perfect level all round. And the npcs? Always felt duke's maps needed some more characters.
But not to seem too savage on the old criticism here but i lost interest on the way to the edf base. Yes a working bike is something we've wanted since we all saw that screen in the bar in raw meat. And it works surprisingly well but gets real old fast for me. This is an fps not a racing game and I had real trouble manipulating this thing and had to cheat simply to get through the road to the edf base map the first time.
I haven't even worked out how the hell to get through the dlc map on the bike. Its beyond my comprehension as to why this is so damn tricky. It doesn't give you any grace at all. Its all a million miles an hour and the slightest wrong move and its game over. I consider myself a veteran of duke and most classic fps' of the 90's. Two tries of this and I felt ready to explode with frustration like a useless kid again.
Its not actually enjoyable when its like that. And I found that if you stop the bike and savegame you cant get enough speed to use any of the ramps so its all or nothing from the beginning.
It kinda sucks. Also I felt that all the best bits were actually in first map. Not sure if this is because the on-the-road map sapped my joy but it started to diminish slightly in quality as the maps went on. I felt the mines and dam in particular lacked something. I dunno I just suppose that after the first map I was so geed up, my expectation was high.
The mine carts on the lava just felt like a parody of the rabid transit trains rather than carts on a track. The donkey sequence although needed (it was in the 2001 trailer after all) just felt clumsy and cumbersome. Don't think I'm being unreasonable, the dlc stadium map is absolutely **** hot! On par with the ladykiller map. In general it is the best duke mod out there of all time. That's a fact.
Just guess I'm being overexcited and reality is not quite meeting my expectation based on the first map and the video I saw on here. Never mind me. Its not like I can do any better.
Android Language Project Full Version Free Download more. Keep up the good work on this. Ok I've played this again today and I have to say I think I was a little over critical the first time. I actually enjoyed it a hell of a lot more this time. The bike in the main mod is fantastic. But I stand by what I said about the dlc bike map. Absolutely far too hard and irritating. I think it was this that sapped my joy before and resulted in a coloured opinion of the rest of the game.
The mod kinda reminds me of the best parts of duke it out in dc. That is a compliment. However this is like a million times more detailed! Sorry about that other post. This is great. Like what kdizd was for doom. Awesome detail but not without its bum notes here and there but that's down to personal likes and expectations.
But you'll never please everyone 100%. Although I got confused as to what to do next a few times this was all moot on playthrough two. Thanks again guys +3 votes. Highest Rated (9 agree) This was amazing! The first level starts off a bit slow, and besides the new art and a few references played like an ordinary Duke 3D level (although the view from the top of the lady killer is stunning) and there's good atmosphere. After you get the bike, there's a bit of a turning point and gameplay starts becoming more ambitious and interesting, plus all the references, both in-your-face and the smaller ones, and the obvious/exact replicas as well as ideas/locations etc which are only loosely Apr 30 2013 by micky_c.
