I am now 27 and am still using it today. In fact I will be putting the now 10th set of string on this little baby so that I can start teaching my 8year old son And 3 year old daughter to play guitar. I am planning on buying the smaller version for the 3 year old seeing as mine is the full size one.

I noticed how everyone complained about all the guitars staying in tune though. In my experience if you play your guitar more than twice a week the strings will eventually stretch out to there desired position and hold a tune. Mine has sat for weeks at a time while in high school and never lost a tune. Until the recent battle with the three year old my strings were on there for 4 years and only had to be tuned the day I installed them and three times after that. I used to carry my guitar everywhere with me and still would if I didn't have to work all day. Comments about Yamaha CGS Student Classical Guitar: This is a great little guitar. Comments about Yamaha CGS Student Classical Guitar: This is an excellent, small size guitar. I have the 1/2 size version and I pick it up nearly every day to practice and write new material. It's especially handy in the early hours of the morning when the neighbors are asleep.

This is obviously an inexpensive instrument but the tone and play-ability are exceptional. It's ALWAYS fun to play and it ALWAYS inspires me to write just another song or another bridge or another hook for whatever I've been working on. Overall I'd recommend this guitar to any beginner or any veteran. You'll love it. Comments about Yamaha CGS Student Classical Guitar: I give classical guitar lessons and my students always come in with a cheaply made guitar they bought for almost as much money as this one.

For just a little more, they could have had this gem. Most of my guitar students were about to give up when I bought three of this model -- one in each size. I let them borrow them for a few weeks and they absolutely fell in love with playing and really took off in their skills. They've all purchased this guitar now and they all love it. You can't beat the price, playability, and sound quality of this guitar, no matter what size you need.

My students begin around age 8 or 9 and the 1/2 size and 3/4 size are perfect for them. I even hang up my Martin 000-16SM once in awhile to work out on this Yamaha! Comments about Yamaha CGS Student Classical Guitar: I'm a guitarist - been playing for several years - and I wanted to buy a starter guitar as a Christmas present for my 5 year old nephew.

He's never played before so I wanted to get him a guitar that would suit his small size. I also wanted to ensure that I get him a good quality acoustic guitar - not too good, i.e. Not be very expensive, and also not too cheap, i.e. The strings would go out of tune/ the guitar made of cheap wood. I also thought a classical style guitar would be easier on his fingers due to the nylon strings. He had a smile on his face when he opened the present and I think this guitar was a great purchase.
