Notes: The Axl Rose-fronted AC/DC played their third and fourth show together Friday night at Marseilles, France's Stade Velodrome, and Festival Weide, Werchter, Belgium where the band unleashed their Highway to Hell favorite ' If You Want Blood (You Got It)' onstage for the first time since October 2003. Although the setlists have so far remained largely the same with the Guns N' Roses singer subbing for longtime vocalist Brian Johnson, the band has dug into their catalog to revisit songs that haven't played in years: At all three Rose gigs, the band have performed ' Rock n' Roll Damnation' for the first time since their 2003 tour. AC/DC have also revived 'Riff Raff' for the first time since 1979 to suit their replacement vocalist, who covered the Powerage track with Guns N' Roses.

Notes: It was an impossible fantasy. Mr.Masaya 'yasu' Yasue at NJP had this dream for a long time. Finally he made it came TRUE. August 4 Joe Lynn Turner and New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra teamed up for Symphonic Rainbow Concert called 'Tribute to Rainbow.' The world famous Japanese hard rock-heavy Metal magazine BURRN! Carried special articles of the One Night 'dream' concert for three successive months.
The venue, Tokyo Metropolitan Art Space 'Tokyo-Geijyutsu-Gekijyo,' is such a beautiful space where there are three sizes of symphonic halls. The Tribute to Rainbow took place in Main Hall where there were about 2000 seats for the audience members. On the front of the stage there is a pipe organ having 126 stops. This is a full-scale concert hall for orchestral performances. The program had two parts. It had a 20 minute intermission.
The first part centered around orchestra sounds with instrumental and slow ballads. Joe put so much feeling into what he sung. His voice was bluesy and just magnificent. Especially, Tchaikovsky's From Overture '1812' op.49 was so marvelous.
They called this tune the memory of Mr.Cozy Powell. Tympanis went off at hall just like a loud report of Cannon. Cozy's memorial pictures reflected on the wall of main hall. After the interval, the 2nd part had come. Please see the Set List!
You'll realize that it was just for Joe Lynn Turner time. It started with the very famous classic march number Elgar's March 'Pomp and Circumstance' No.1 op.39.' The concert master Mr.Yasushi Toyoshima was just delightful. Many hard rock-heavy metal fans who had not listened to classic music said to me that it was a very moving sound! So we were very impressed with Mr.Toyoshima! As same time, I felt this tune was there just for Joe Lynn Turner. It was the opening number for Joe Lynn's Rainbow songs!!

Total Time: 01:01:09 hour/s. *** Some Great Reward Tour * Europe, Leg #1 *** Personnel: Dave Gahan - lead vocals:: Martin Gore - keyboards, backing vocals, occasional lead vocals (*):: Alan Wilder - keyboards, backing vocals:: Andrew Fletcher - keyboards, backing vocals. Notes: Incomplete FM broadcast * Lineage: 'Performance' bootleg (The Swingin' Pig / TSP CD 090 2) ->EAC FLAC (supposedly secure mode; not my rip) ->sped up 1.5% and normalized to -1.0db and centered on DC offset using Audacity 1.3.13 beta ->FLAC level 8. An excellent, nearly complete FM broadcast. Somewhat loud.
Intro is missing. It sounds like there may be watermarks throughout the show (example: 'Leave In Silence', 1:44; 'Ice Machine', 0:13). The artwork is incorrect: it claims that this is a recording of 1984-11-29, but there was no concert played that night according to depechemode.com. The Basel concert was played on 1984-11-30. COMMERCIAL TRACKS: Tracks marked with (#) have been commercially released and have been omitted from this torrent.
I am sorry for the inconvenience. NOTE ABOUT Track 1.09 'Somebody': one page on depmod (depmod.com/ albums/some_great_reward/ a04387.htm) claims that a remaster of Some Great Reward includes a recording of 'Somebody' from 1984-11-30, but I strongly believe it is the 1984-09-29 Liverpool 'Somebody' found on previous releases and on other remaster releases, and that the listing on depmod is a mistake. I have posted this on depmod forums, and hopefully someone will resolve it soon. However, since I am unable to verify the track's authenticity on the said edition of SGR, I have not included 'Somebody' from this recording to prevent this torrent from being banned at this time. OTHER VERSIONS: At least two other recordings exist of this concert that I know of, both FM broadcasts: 1) One is titled 'Badlands' and sounds inferior to this recording, is missing songs, and I have not yet found a lossless copy. It is also the only truly complete version of this concert.
2) The other is a Westwood One radio broadcast (or pre-FM? My copy sounds like it's sourced from tape, has an annoying ringing, and advertisements included) I believe from 1985, which has fake crowd noise and even fewer songs than 'Badlands,' and I have also been unable to find a lossless copy. Discotraxxx has said that this concert is available on several other LP/CDs, but with worse sound than 'Performance' and 'Badlands', and that some other non-bootleg sourced FM versions of this concert exist (including the master used for 'Performance'), but are not currently circulating.
He also believes that at least two broadcasts took place after this concert, not just the Westwood One broadcast I mentioned above. Thanks for providing that info, discotraxxx! (Info taken from original info file).

A Forest Files: 14.:: Size: 373,25 MB (flac). Total Time: 01:00:57 hour/s. *** Circus Tour 1981 *** Personnel: Robert Smith – vocals, guitar, keyboards:: Lol Tolhurst – drums:: Simon Gallup – bass. Notes: Complete show with final song 'A Forest' dedicated to Robert Palmer. From liner notes: 'As Robert misremembers in his book, 'Ten Imaginary Years', 'We'd only been on for about a half an hour and everything was running late so Robert Plamer's road crew started motioning to us to stop. This bloke ran on and said 'If you don't stop playing, we're gonna pull the plug'.
Simon immediately walked to the mike and shouted 'Fuck Robert Palmer! Fuck Rock'N'Roll!' And we were started playing a really slow version of 'A Forest' which lasted about 15 minutes. It was fucking brilliant. Unfortunately, when we finished, they threw all our stuff off the back of the stage.'
In fact, the song was not slow but long, with Robert singing alternate lyrics 'such a long end!' , not 15 but around 9 minutes, and Simon Gallup didn't shout before but after.
Soundboard quality, released in 3-panel fold-out digi-sleeve. Liner notes, Picture Tour May-July 1981 dates and live shoots printed inside.
CD in additional die-cut paper sleeve with clear plastic on the die-cut side. The intro is a speech of a dutch journalist on crowd noises, this speaker repeats the Simon's 'Fuck Robert Palmer!
Fuck Rock'N'Roll!' At the end of the last song. (discogs.com) By the time The Cure played Werchter in July 1981 they had already begun their turn from pop into precursor goth. This was their first of many appearances at the Werchter Festival in Belgium. Filmed and broadcast, all titles of with this material originate from the radio broadcast. One of the first CDs with this show is Unplugged And More (CDLC001).
Much of the disc is occupied with the 1991 Unplugged set. The 1981 part is missing “A Forest.” A complete version was released afterwards called Kiss Me For Cure (ROLA 015) also with excellent sound. Fuck Rock ‘N’ Roll! On Godfather also contains the complete show and is sourced from an excellent recording of the radio broadcast. A DJ can be heard speaking, but doesn’t interfere with the music.
Their hour long set is deliberate and brilliant for the time. The title comes from bassist Simon Gallup’s statement at the end. According to Robert Smith, Robert Palmer’s road crew were trying to get The Cure off the stage so they could get everything ready for his set. The oblige by playing their song “A Forest” very slow, stretching the three minute song to three times its length. Godfather package the show in a trifold gatefold sleeve with photos of the event including the front cover of Smith. It’s a good title for The Cure collector to have. Aerosmith: Pump up The Volume.
